WIL Group Global Survey 2017-18
The worldwide interim business continues to grow, our latest global survey shows.
Every year we interview thousands of our interims to get a snapshot of the latest trends. The 2018 report has found that more than 20% of assignments today are focused on growth and transformation projects, with strong demand at CEO and Board level.
Germany remains the world leader in terms of volume of interim appointments, with France taking the second spot for the first time. Despite Brexit, the UK is continuing to show growth in its interim market. Europe retains the highest demand for interim support, but there is notable growth in the USA, China, United Arab Emirates and Russia.
Manufacturing and industry top the table for the sectors that most often seek interim expertise, accounting for more than 40% of assignments.
Encouragingly, 74% of the women that responded felt that it was no more difficult for women than men to work on international placements – although only 12% of respondents were women.
Generally, our interims have a strong and positive outlook for the year to come, noting that ongoing business challenges around the globe mean the demand for the external perspective of an interim is set to continue.
